Let's Make a Doll-house :)

This is the doll house I made for my three year old daughter .

1. Building the Structure
The house that we are going to build today will have 5 compartments. A living room, a kitchen, a bed room, a wash room and a worship/study room. For this, ingredients needed are:

  •  A big size diaper box: This will be partitioned to accommodate the living room and the kitchen.
  •  A medium size diaper box. This will be our bed room
  •  2 small size diaper boxes. One to be the wash room and the other will be the worship room.

After making the structure,  cover the inside and  outside (not the back) of the boxes with white papers.

I used items like adhesive, scissors, etc to build the house.

2. Curving the Furniture
first we have to decide what furniture do we need in the rooms and start making it.
Let's start with making sofa. I used thermocol  which comes with my new laptop. cushions are also made of thermocols, after making it i coloured it red, before colouring   I put some glue on it so that the color stuck into the surface.

For TV i used black and white papers and paste them together with a card-board. The decorative items (wall hanging pictures, clocks) are also made from card-board and 'pictures' from different magazines and flyers.

next comes lamps. For the big lamp we can use straw and printed paper and for the small one I used cap of a marker, straw and white and printed paper. Following pictures will help to understand how it attached together to get the proper shape. for the clock I used a picture of clock which I pasted on a piece of card-board and at the bottom I pasted two small plastic duckies(which I got from my daughters old hair-clip ). The small stool I got when I ordered pizza, and I loved it to use :) .

For all the cupboards, card-board, colored papers and a black marker pen are used.

Thermocol is used for making the structure of the bed. I sewed a cloth for the mattress and for two cushions (two small pillows) putting thermocol inside it.

3. Interior Decoration

Ingredients are used : wrapping paper, water color (for covering and coloring wall respectively.), colored paper .

Now it is time to put things on place.

For bathroom and kitchen-sink I use yogurt cup, thermocol and small wire for the tap.

For commode I again use the yogurt cup and for the cover I use thermocol. Bath-tub is made of soap-case and colored paper.

Thats all .
